I made this LO for'Economics' class at the Nook 'University.'
The goal was to use this sketch to do a LO about what I love and hate spending money on.



I also did the Extra Credit for Ecomics by making a birthday card with a money wallet and a matching envelope. And because I thought it would be more 'economical' to use the scraps from the LO.

Here's inside. I didn't have any £5 or £10 notes so I used a dollar I had left over from my visit to California. I'm going to use the pocket for strips of stickers when I give it to Keris. I hope she likes it.

This challenge was for 'History' class at the Nook 'University.'

1. A layout about my history.
2. The story must be at least 20 years old.
3. And the layout must contain something old!

I chose a photo of my great-grandmother Olga. I never got to know her, so it was nice to do some background research about her. She died before I was one, so her story is definitely more than 20 years ago.

The 'old' thing on this LO is the beads. I've had them since high-school (5+ years ago), and for a 22-year-old that's old. I don't really have anything else in the house that I could use that is older than 3 years. Isn't that funny.

This week...

I've been making scrapbook layouts!
For the rest of September, my favorite scrapbook site (www.myscrapbooknook.com) is having a really fun challenge called "Nook University." All the challenges are school related. You'll see what I mean when I show the three layouts I made for this week.

Doing threes was easy but having 6,9, or more was difficult. So I have:

The next LO I did for "Intro to Art." The challenge was to choose a choose a piece of artwork and use it to inspire a LO.

I LOVE art nouveau.
I chose Alphonse Mucha's 'Moon.'

I just want to show these other two, because they show the curved lines and circles typical to art nouveau.

So here's my attempt at an art nouveau layout:

And my last LO for this week was for "English" class. The challenge was to make a LO about reading, including a photo of myself reading a book and at least 50 words of journaling.

Please forgive the night-time photo. (It makes the photo have glare - it looks like scratches.)

Journaling reads:
"I love reading. As I was growing up there were always books in our house.
When my sister, Leah, was in first grade, she loved reading so much she tried to teach me at age 2! I didn't take to it then, but her love of reading has definitely influenced mine.
I was a big reader in school and even now I'm always on the lookout for a new author or series.
Here I'm reading one recommended by Leah: Stephanie Meyer's Twilight.

Wedding card

I needed to make a wedding card, but realized I didn't have any wedding-style stamps. I find theme stamps are better for theme cards (makes life simpler).
